NA Farsi UK is a Persian-language community and resource platform serving members of Narcotics Anonymous in the United Kingdom.

The project involved transforming an outdated and poorly structured WordPress website into a modern, responsive, and maintainable dynamic platform.

The new visual direction was based on a selected English-language reference website, which I recreated and adapted for Persian content and right-to-left usage.

A major part of the project involved preserving the website’s extensive existing content while reorganizing it into dedicated content structures. Content that had previously been managed through a largely shared post structure was reviewed, migrated, corrected, and separated into purpose-built Custom Post Types, taxonomies, dynamic archives, and individual templates.

The rebuilt website was completed using Elementor Pro, JetEngine, and JetSmartFilters and delivered as a structured platform that could be managed much more effectively through WordPress.

Development Approach

The redesign was based on a selected English-language reference website. I recreated the visual direction in WordPress and adapted it for Persian-language content, RTL layouts, and the organization’s specific content and functionality requirements.

The website was rebuilt using Elementor Pro and JetEngine rather than relying on the structure of the legacy website.

Existing content was preserved throughout the migration process, but instead of simply transferring it into the new design, the content was reviewed, corrected, reorganized, and assigned to more appropriate dedicated content structures.

SEO fundamentals related to page structure and on-page implementation were also considered during the rebuild, although ongoing SEO was not part of my responsibility for the project.

Content Architecture & Migration

The legacy website contained a substantial amount of existing content, much of which had been managed through a shared post structure.

During the redesign, I preserved the existing content while restructuring the website’s information architecture. Rather than simply migrating the old content, I reviewed and reorganized it into dedicated Custom Post Types, each with its own taxonomy, dynamic archive, individual content template, and presentation structure.

This created a cleaner and significantly more manageable WordPress architecture while allowing the organization to retain its existing content library.

Dynamic Meeting Directory

I developed a structured meeting directory using a dedicated Custom Post Type and a comprehensive set of custom fields for both in-person and online meetings.

Meeting information was modeled as structured data rather than static page content, allowing details such as location, meeting type, schedule, and other meeting-specific information to be managed dynamically through WordPress.

Conditional display logic was used to control how different meeting information appeared on the frontend, including differences between physical and online meetings.

AJAX Meeting Search & Filtering

I implemented an advanced search and filtering system using JetSmartFilters, allowing visitors to find relevant meetings without full page reloads.

The meeting directory supports filtering across structured meeting data and provides a more practical way to navigate a large number of in-person and online meeting records.

Dynamic Content Architecture

Each major content type was given its own dedicated structure using JetEngine.

Separate Custom Post Types, taxonomies, archive listings, single templates, and supporting fields were created so that different types of content could be managed and displayed independently while maintaining a consistent overall website experience.

Content Preservation During Redesign

One of the project’s key requirements was to modernize the platform without losing its extensive existing content.

The migration was therefore handled as a content restructuring process rather than a simple website replacement. Existing material was retained, reviewed, corrected where necessary, and reassigned to the appropriate new content structures.

Project Outcome

The project transformed an outdated WordPress website into a modern, structured, and maintainable dynamic content platform while preserving its substantial existing content library.

The new architecture separated major content types into dedicated structures, improved ongoing content management, introduced a structured and searchable meeting directory, and provided the organization with a significantly clearer platform for managing community resources, publications, announcements, and meeting information.

The completed website was delivered within the agreed project period and is no longer under my ongoing management.
